| Otterbox phone case |
In January I purchased an Otterbox case for my phone. I'd heard a few friends rave about how sturdy they are, including one whose case and phone have survived trips to Haiti and other places off the beaten track. They are a bit expensive, but I decided to make the jump given how difficult it is to get insurance for phones in Hong Kong.
Prevention is better than cure, right?
They are not very common in Hong Kong so I often get asked where I bought it. Expansys was the reseller I went through (www.expansys.com.hk) and they also have online shops in US, UK an Oz.
I've had 6 months of problem free use when a few days ago I pulled the phone out of my pocket and noticed a crack on the lower left corner.
Now I need to go through the fun of finding out if this is covered by the 1 year warranty (it was for this chap!

and whether to go through Expansys or direct to Otterbox.
UPDATE: Otterbox responded to my enquiry on the same day. They have offered to post a replacement device. Very impressed!
