Tsing Ma Bridge |
Having driven past many times, when rushing too or from the airport, we finally took some time on Wednesday evening to stop off and admire the Tsing Ma Bridge. 2.2km long, or 3.5km if you include the section linking Park Island with Lantau, it is quite an impressive structure. When it was built, it was, together with land reclaimation, the new airport, trainline, and other highways, the world's biggets engineering project.
Fact for the day: According to one of the posters at the viewing platform where this photo was taken, the wires which make up the supporting cables, holding the bridge up, would wrap round the earth 4 times (160,000km) if laid end to end!

Ah, the bridge, a real indicator you were either off to another country or you were just returning from one. How I miss it and everyone back there. Great to see you two enjoying HK!
