Philippines |
We spent the weekend in the Philippines, visiting a charity called International Care Ministries who work in slums across the Philippines. We visited a feeding program in one slum, met some of their special medical cases, and saw their work among reformed postitutes. They even have a farm where recovering TB patients spend 6 months getting over their illness and learning life skills through working on the farm. An incredible organisation, manned by an incredibly committed group of people, mostly local Philippines staff, who just care so much for the people they serve. We'll write more about our experiences there when we've had time to think it all through, and to recover from some minor bugs we've both picked up. |
