This week, I (Helen) am in Shanghai for 3 days attending an amusement parks exhibition. We first attended this type of exhibition while were in Dubai (by chance!) and it provided to be very beneficial for our work. We made some amazing connections with people who would like to use there expertise to help us communicate a message of hope for the poor.
It may seem a little odd that people who work for a humanitarian aid organisation would be attending an amusement park exhibition and well I guess it is! But in some ways makes a lot of sense. After people have experienced some of the complexities of poverty, the frustration and sometimes hopelessness they are inspired to help. Humanitarian organisations can provide a place for them to act in response. And we need them too! |
