Then there were two... |
So much for avoiding getting sick. Helen's kindly passed her bug on to me (we did say "all that I have I share with you" in our vows :), and is still fighting it herself.
Helen decided to look a bit longer-term than just cold avoidance, and found a page on how to build up your immune system. Some of the tips, like getting enough exercise, eating good foods and avoiding bad ones are pretty obvious, but we can all do with a good reminder every now and then. But I didn't know that excessive exposure to sunlight can impact your immune system.
Most telling of all for HK dwellers is that "Pollution is a major factor in immune suppression". Given the increase in pollution over the last few years (HK has been getting 10% darker every decade since the 50's because of pollution), that might explain why we keep getting these bugs.
On the bright side (no pun intended), all that pollution will help with avoiding the excessive sun exposure. |

The pollution isn't (all) HK's fault ... (most of) it comes from China, the smoke factories beyond the pearl river delta... all so we can have our nikes and dells and nells muhahahahaha
