World Cup X: Australia v Brazil |
I'm back in HK now, after 2 weeks in England. Unfortunately I was a bit unwell during the trip, so wasn't able to catch up with everyone I wanted to see.
Yesterday I got to watch my first World Cup match with Helen! It's really good to be back together after our first time apart since our wedding 3 years ago (a pretty amazing feat considering how many trips we've been on in that time). It was quite appropriate that Barry & Lesley, Helen's uncle & aunt, were at this match.
Australia crowded out Brazil in the 1st half and amazingly managed to keep the score at 0-0 for 45 minutes. They eased up with the tackling and marking in the 2nd half and as a result both played better football, creating lots of chances. After Brazil's first goal, Australia were unlucky to lose a 2nd right at the end. 1-0 would have been a fairer scoreline. 'We were robbed!' was the official response from our man in the stadium. Next stop: Croatia. |
