The end is in sight... |
We finally finished the MacLehose trail last month. Thanks to Mike's sister Laura who was visiting, we trekked off to Sai Kung (that's a 2 hour hike in itself when you live in Tuen Mun, the opposite side of HK's New Territories) to tackle stage 3. We've walked the other 9 stages over the last 18 months or so, so this was the last one. It was certainly a very satisfying moment reaching that last post at the end of this stage. Our next challenge is the Hong Kong trail... or maybe the Wilson trail... or perhaps the Trailwalker (the 100km MacLehose in less than 48 hours) ...
The views on this stage were awesome (see Flickr for more pics), and it's also one of the most difficult. four 400m high peaks, with deep valleys in between. tough going, but the Lord of the Rings scenery makes it all worthwhile.
