Oxfam Trailwalker in Hong Kong |
Next Friday I (Mike) am doing the Hong Kong Oxfam trailwalker. This is a 100km sponsored walk along the Maclehose trail that must be completed inside 48 hours. It's a really tough course, which involves the equivalent uphill walking as climbing Everest twice, apparently. Helen and I have walked the whole trail in stages, over the last two years and now I'm doing the same thing in a weekend.
That great thing is that all the money raised goes to help the poorest of the poor. So, if you'd like to sponsor our team of 4, then we'd love to hear from you (mike helen at gmail dot com). |

Mike, this sounds great! I hope you kick some hilly butt! When you visit the UK, maybe we could recreate the experience by tackling the North Downs. Or not...

Hey Jon. Yeah, I'd definitely be up for walking in the UK. Is there a trailwalker event over there? I'd never really heard about it before coming to HK. Either way, we're really into walking at the mo - great way to stay healthy and enjoy the countryside.

I've just taken a look for a UK Trailwalker thing. I was very excited to see that, not only is there a UK Trailwalker, but it happens to leave from my town (Petersfield) in Hampshire, shoots along the South Downs way and ends in Brighton. Brilliant! It's in July so, having missed next year's London Marathon, I may take this as an even more exciting replacement.
