World Cup XVII: Advice for Ronaldinho
We've got a few days off from the World Cup, so there's not much action to report. Except that two referees went to visit the England team, and each of the other quarter finalists to tell them that the refereeing is very 'different'* in this World Cup. From the record number of red cars already issued, I think the players worked that out for themselves. (*Or should that be 'appalling'? Source: Officials in high places in FIFA, the international football body, apparently said that the referee who issued 3 yellow cards to one player, when the maximum is 2, should have received a card himself!).
With no other action to report, here's an amusing video that a friend showed me today from a recent match between two English club teams. As the commentator says,
